mck.la
The digital junk drawer of someone whose brain treats "I wonder if…" as a lifestyle choice. Self-hosted, over-engineered, and running on a server I built so I'd have something else to tinker with.
This is a pile of proof-of-concepts, half-baked experiments, and what-if.py files that fell out of a brain with too many browser tabs open. Part solution engineer, part chaos goblin, fully powered by curiosity and the unreasonable belief that everything can be automated, self-hosted, or at minimum turned into a small web app with a tidy login page.
Most of it lives on my own hardware because the cloud is just someone else's computer and I wanted my own. Some of it even works in polite company. All of it started as a passing thought that flatly refused to stay passing.
Tinkerer by Default
If it exists, it can be taken apart. If it doesn't exist, it can be built at 2am and deployed before the coffee's cold.
Self-Hosts Everything
Why use a SaaS when you can run the SaaS? The homelab has more uptime than my attention span.
Email & DNS Nerd
SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MTA-STS. I will absolutely tell you why your mail is going to spam, unprompted.
Scripts Everything
If I do it twice, I'm writing a script. If I do it once, I might still write a script. Just in case.
AI-Assisted Goblin
Will happily ask an AI to help build a thing that asks another AI to do a thing. It's turtles.
